Set in the year 4484 of the Aeyunan calendar, HYBRIS explores human society at the peak of its existance. Mankind has colonized three planets and four moons across the Aeyunan solar system and reached a total population of almost one billion people.

A new technology, commonly known as EVOLUTIONARY ENGINEERING, that combines conventional machinery with a form of alien life, has brought about a chapter of unparalleled prosperity. But it is also this creation that now threatens the very existance of humanity itself and has split the people of Aeyuna in two: Believers and fierce opponents of this new form of hybrid, living machines.

The film follows a few members of a resistance group, calling themselves the ARMED OPPOSITION in their battle against the dangerous, uncontrollable technology. Rallied around their leader YNYA VVALOA, their self-proclaimed mission is not only to protect humanity from itself but to safe biological life as a whole.

Once ecosystems all over their worlds begin to die and mankind fails to unite for a last attempt to avoid extinction only one hope remains: Ynya must find her mother, the lost creator of hybrid machines as a last hope to safe humanity.
